David Rehr was named the sixth head coach in Houston Volleyball history on March 27, 2019 and has rejuvenated the program to heights that have not been seen in years.
In just one season, Rehr took a team who won four conference games in 2018 and cashed in 10 league victories in 2019, the most since 2013. At the beginning of the season, Houston was slated to finish 10th in conference action and Rehr molded the Cougars into competitors who ended the year with their highest finish in The American since joining the conference. Earned 2019 American Conference Coach of the Year.
